As a landscape designer, I approach my work with a philosophy that views gardens as living artworks, continuously evolving through the seasons and maturing over the years. The greatest compliment to our work is the sense that the garden has always seamlessly been part of the landscape. Creating such a space begins with an initial meeting and agreement, leading to a multi-step journey.
During the first stage, we delve into the garden's inherent identity: exploring its history, its connection to surrounding buildings and the landscape, the client's expectations, and any external factors such as privacy concerns, needs, and constraints. This thorough analysis forms the backbone of the project, guiding all subsequent stages.
Next, a sketch captures the garden's future essence, character, and narrative. This is followed by detailed plans that flesh out its appearance, forms, and operational aspects.
The project culminates with the implementation phase, which includes necessary adjustments, and a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure the garden or outdoor area thrives in its renewed existence.
